Křesťané věznění v Eritreji i přes protivenství vytrvávají v Kristu
Místní informátor to řekl redaktoru BosNewsLife. CHURCH IN INDIA DONATES TO BIBLE DISTRIBUTION DESPITE FAMINE

Source: Mission Network News
Bibles for the World recently began distributing 1.2 million Bibles to subscribers of a weekly news magazine across India. India Today, a widely read magazine, gave Bibles for the World permission to mail the Scriptures to the publication’s mailing list.

Ro and Mawii Pudaite of Bibles for the World recently visited India to meet with representatives of a rural church in northeastern India’s Manipur state. The church, located in a village in one the worst-affected famine areas of the state, made a donation toward the Bibles.

When asked why members would be willing to provide what little money they had, the pastor responded, “When we heard about the need of printing Bibles for the people of a nation who have never had the Word of God in their language, we could not help but sacrifice . . . we would rather go without food than deny these dear people from having the Word of eternal life.”

While India has freedom of religion, persecution remains a threat, but families receiving the Bibles in the privacy of their homes can read them without being at risk.

Response from the 600,000 people who already received the Bibles is tremendous, said Mawii. “Some have received Christ as Savior and Lord,” she said. “Many of them are seekers, wanting to know more, and we follow them.” Ro added that along with donations, prayer is crucial to the ministry. “Pray that God will make His Word clear to those who are receiving the New Testaments,” he said.

FILM TEAM IN BHUTAN UNDER ATTACK FOR SHARING CHRIST

Source: Assist News Service
Police in the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan plan to interrogate Gospel for Asia missionary Amil Romir for showing a movie about the life of Jesus. After seeing many people turn to Christ after watching the movie, several religious extremists recently filed a complaint against Romir, his film team and other local believers. They claim that he is luring people into Christianity through the film which is made in traditional Asian style. “People from all walks of life from our villages are deserting their traditional religions and embracing the Christian faith because of the regular film showings,” the extremists told police. Although Bhutan does not have an anti-conversion law, the extremists are pressuring police to take action against Romir. Authorities are summoning him for questioning.

CHRISTIANS JAILED IN ERITREA STAND FOR CHRIST AMID PRESSURES

Source: BosNewsLife, Open Doors
Christians jailed in the East African nation of Eritrea on charges related to “illegal worship” are refusing to denounce Jesus Christ. In some cases they have organized the Lord’s Supper with fellow inmates despite pressure from authorities, local sources told BosNewsLife. Netherlands-based Open Doors, a group investigating reported cases of persecution, confirmed that at least one imprisoned pastor asked a guard to request his wife to bring wine. The woman immediately realized that her husband wanted to organize the Lord’s Supper and brought the wine. That evening the Lord’s Supper was celebrated in an Eritrean prison. Observing these biblical rituals isn’t easy for the 2,000 or so Christians jailed in Eritrea. Many are locked up in military prison camps -- some even in shipping containers, often for several years. Open Doors reported that many Christian prisoners are unable to celebrate the Lord’s Supper or hold worship services. “Prison guards try to do everything to break the Christians’ faith in Christ,” Open Doors said.

WORLD VISION DONATES DAIRY COWS TO NEEDY FAMILIES IN GEORGIA

Source: Religion Today
Dairy cows have been donated to 47 of the poorest households in Khashm, a village in the Kakheti region of the Republic of Georgia, to help alleviate the struggle for food and nutrition, reported Assist News Service. The donation was a joint project of World Vision and Heifer International’s Food Security Enhancement initiative. Twenty of the cows were bought through World Vision’s gifts in kind project, Livestock for Vulnerable Families, and the other 27 were provided by Heifer International. These households were chosen from a village of 1,537 people. “We don’t have cattle in our family so for me it is a huge support; I cannot even express it in words,” said 60-year-old Mary, who received one of the dairy cows. “Before I had to buy diary products for my grandchildren, and I could rarely afford them. Now my children will have cheese and other products.”
